Dear ICCE Coordinators,

  

The new coursework titles have been released and should be implemented for students beginning their essays with immediate effect. If you missed the original release, the new guidelines can be downloaded from the downloads page of this website.

  

Please note the following requirements:

  

  • Students working on old essay titles must complete and submit the essays to their National Moderator by 31st December 2021.
  • National Coordinators must submit the completed essays to the ICCE office by 31st January 2022 at the latest.
  • From 1st February 2022, all essay submissions for Social Studies, Biblical Studies and English must be titles from the new coursework guidelines.
  • The old titles for Advanced Level Maths Papers and Science Essays will still be accepted as the new titles are not yet available.
  • The English III Research Paper title can be selected by the student or taken from the list given in English III PACE 1131.

  

Please contact the ICCE office prior to 31st December if a student has already started their essay but will be delayed due to extenuating circumstances e.g., COVID-19 illness or bereavement.

New Literature courses have been developed and are now available.


Literature 9

A course has been developed that may be taken as an alternative to the current A.C.E. Literature 9 course. (Note: This does not replace the A.C.E. course, so those who want to continue to use the current course may do so.)


Literature 10

A new course is available as a further credit option (elective) at Intermediate Level. 


Details on both courses can be downloaded from the ICCE Members Portal on the Downloads page.

Notice was given in March that new coursework titles would be released this year. These new coursework titles are now available and can be downloaded from the members portal (downloads page).


Please note that these titles will replace the old titles with immediate effect, so any students starting their coursework during this academic year should use the new titles. Please DO NOT use any of the old titles.


Note: New titles for Maths Papers as well as pointers for the supervisors on all the new titles will follow shortly.

The following update to coursework submission applies:


Please download the new guideline on coursework submission below. The coursework submission requirements must be implemented in your schools and home education academies during May as they will be required from June 2021.


If you are currently holding coursework items that have already been completed and submitted by the student but are still pending submission to ICCE, please submit them during May. From June, coursework that does not meet the requirements will be returned for correction.


Please note that coursework items should be submitted to the ICCE office for moderation once they have been completed. Please do not hold back the moderation of coursework if the student is finishing the certificate level over an extended period of time as coursework guidelines are updated.


Please ensure that all students are now using the 2020 guidelines for Science Projects.

In line with ICCE’s practice of continual development, please take careful note of the following developments that will be released over the next few months and come into effect from September 2021 (unless otherwise indicated). 

    

Please look out for further communication with information on each item to ensure you are up to date with the latest ICCE offering.

               

  • The 2021 Global Procedures Manual and Regional Handbooks for Europe and Africa will be released (able to be referenced as soon as released).
  • New University Handbook (able to be referenced as soon as released)
  • New Coursework Titles
  • New courses/PACEs will be released, including:
    • An update to the alternative Literature 9 course at General Level
    • An optional Literature 10 course at Intermediate Level (half and full credit options)
    • Additional Level 12 (Advanced) Maths PACEs
  • Credit will be offered for selected Agriculture Courses.
  • Science practical skills, which will initially include videos and lab books, will be provided for those intending to apply for Science degrees.

Further details will be provided on each of these items in the coming weeks.
